Fantasy Gold Bond Makes the Big Bucks

As I write this post, a "restored" Gold Bond Lantern listed on eBay has a high bid north of $150.00, with days to go.

I would not buy this. I'd rather have the real thing. But that's me. Apparently someone would be happy to buy this and is willing to toss out a pretty good chunk of change.

So, good on you eBay seller ***j48***. It looks like you do a fine rebuild, repainting like a true Gold Bond. And you state as much in the listing so everybody knows what they are getting. Find a need and fill it, I got no problem with that.

But I would ask one thing: Take out your metal marking letter punch set, I'd use an "F" for Fantasy, a "G" for Gold and a "B" for Bond and give us a nice big FGB on the bottom. That way the same rig won't show up on eBay as an authentic Gold Bond in a couple of months.

The lantern is a single burner lantern. I have not tested the unit but it is in extremely nice shape. The date on the bottom reads 2 - 1973. The ventilator does have some small chips as shown in one of the pictures. I can not find any rust on this lantern."

This Coleman Lantern Early Style Mid 60s Nos Parts Cabinet is currently at auction, bidding at $550.00.
We've seen a couple of these Coleman parts cabinets come to auction in the last couple months. Definitely something to consider if you repair or refurbish Coleman lanterns and the price seems to be right in the 500-600 range.
This is another  "Rare" Parts Cabinet Filled with mostly NOS PARTS polished to a perfect 14kt shine.  This one also is the early style mid 1960s parts Cabinet, as you will notice, all the first parts cabinets that came out in the early & mid 1960s were painted with that hammered look green paint, which was a bit lighter in color than the last cabinets Coleman Co.  made in the late 1960s.
