The lantern pressurizes and holds pressure. I don't have any white gas, so couldn't actually test the lantern; when I turn the valve I hear gas escaping, so I am sure it will work well. The mantle is new and will require burning in. The lantern is in excellent condition, but has a couple of minor scratches near the filler cap. This is an excellent lantern!
